Tonight, I modeled up the sapphires with the diamond and then redesigned the ring with a slight taper at the top to the solitaire setting. I'm trying really hard to have the CAD work done this week as Christine is off on a mission trip with CCM, so this is my chance while she's gone. Diamonds Direct says they can have the ring made in two weeks time once I supply the CAD, so I'm ready to have this moving forward!
Scott gave me some pointers tonight at the office, but tomorrow night we are really going to push through and try to get to the bottom of finalizing the ring design. He is very good, and there are chances that it won't look EXACTLY like the rings pictured below by the time we're done with it:)
I have the three-in-a-row setup below, and it does look really nice! Below that is the setup with the two sapphires offset to the side to change things up a bit:)

The ring is still set up for a solitaire, but to hold the sapphires in, there would of course need to be a few more prongs...
That being said, with these stones off to the side like they are, there would have to be a few more prongs added, and I'm still trying to figure out how to make that look attractive. I like the different look of it though!
